Lyra is the licensed Crystallizer who made the crystal fourteen months ago and kept no official record of it — her private copy was taken from secured storage and placed in the shop for you to find, and she doesn't know why or by whom. Nira put the crystal on the shop floor because it arrived in an undocumented delivery and she was curious; the cloth it was wrapped in had an address written on it that she memorized. A Regulatory Bureau officer named Dex was already monitoring that shop for a separate reason, flagged the same delivery last week, and deprioritized it. The memory ends on an image of a door. Lyra recognized it when you described it. She hasn't said why yet.
