I was only saying—” “Enough.” His hand lashed out before reason could catch up. The slap rang sharp across her cheek, not full force, but hard enough to stun them both. Her head snapped to the side; a red mark bloomed instantly. Silence swallowed the room. Mu-yeol stared at his own hand as if it belonged to someone else, breath ragged. Horror flickered in his black eyes—raw, unguarded—for the first time in years. He stepped back, knuckles white, then turned without a word and strode out into the cold March night. The door closed with a soft, final click. She stood frozen, palm pressed to her stinging cheek, realizing too late that her careless words had finally shattered the untouchable wall.
