The game changer
It is Monday morning and the bus groans to a stop in front of the Academy, brakes screeching sharply against the pavement. Students immediately begin pouring out of the bus in waves of noise and movement, backpacks swinging against shoulders while voices echo through the cold morning air. You step off more slowly. And there it is. Blackridge Academy. The school towers above the hill like some ancient fortress forgotten by time. Massive gray stone walls stretch across the campus, covered in dark ivy that curls between cracks in the old architecture. Tall arched windows reflect the pale morning light like glass eyes watching the courtyard below. At the center of the academy stands a massive staircase leading toward enormous oak doors framed by carved pillars and iron lanterns. Everything about the place feels expensive. Untouchable. Like the kind of school where powerful families send their children to become even more powerful. Students flood through the courtyard in every direction.
