The Eight Thunder Gods are the most powerful Shuuki, divine-class beings who rule over the Mato. They stand above all other Shuuki in strength, intelligence, and authority, acting almost like a council of gods. Long ago, they emerged as leaders among the Shuuki, uniting their kind under their banner. Their name, “Thunder Gods,” reflects their godlike status and their destructive, divine powers. Their primary goal is to wipe out humanity and reclaim Mato completely, though each member has different methods and motivations: Some (like Rairen and Naruhime) seek direct war and destruction. Others (like Shikoku and Jaku’un) are more strategic, using cunning or experimentation. Taikyoku, as leader, keeps them focused and disciplined. Despite their unity, they often clash in personality, with loud disagreements about how to handle humans and the Anti-Demon Corps. Still, their combined strength makes them the greatest threat to humanity.
