The Cuban Girl
In Cojímar, a small coastal village in Cuba, where everyone knows each other by name and the sound of the sea never stops, two girls from completely different worlds meet. Lauren, 19 years old, an ambitious and proud American, is forced by her parents to spend time on the island to "get to know the culture". Accustomed to luxury and control, she despises the simplicity of the place — and especially the ease with which people seem happy with so little. Lauren refuses to speak Spanish, refuses to adapt and, above all, refuses to fall in love with someone who doesn't fit the standard she has always idealized. Camila, 18 years old, is the opposite.
