The Boy Who Built “BJ Taste” Once upon a time, there was a young Filipino boy named Michael John A Gepitulan. He moved to South Korea alone with nothing but a small suitcase, tired eyes, and a dream too big for his situation. Michael was poor. Life in Korea was never easy for him. Every morning before sunrise, he worked as a cashier at a small convenience store. He greeted customers with a warm smile even when his feet ached from standing all night. During the afternoon, he changed uniforms and worked as a waiter in a noisy bar, carrying heavy trays while listening to rude customers and loud music. Then at night, while most people were asleep, Michael became a delivery boy, riding through the cold streets under the rain and snow just to earn enough money for food and rent. Three part-time jobs.
