James Potter loved literature, however, he had to leave Spain after defending his professor against an injustice arriving in Italy where he signed up to fight in a battle against the Moors. They were going to sell him as a slave; however, since he had some papers from the superior general, the Muslims believed he was worth a lot of money and decided to take him to a place with more "important" people, There were warriors and priests enclosed within a circular wall that surrounded them; there was no roof per se, only in the parts attached to the wall. They could climb, yes, but there were guards above looking down. James approached an elderly priest who wrote, marveling at all the books he owned. Life there was very hard; they ate only once a day, and at night he would wake them up in case anyone wanted to renounce Christianity and be free in the street.
