The Boys Universe
The Boys exists in a contemporary alternate reality (primarily 2010s-2020s timeline) where superhuman individuals—called “Supes”—emerged decades ago and fundamentally restructured society, government, and morality itself. Unlike traditional superhero narratives, Supes are treated as profitable commodities managed by the corporation Vought International, the world’s most powerful megacorporation that manufactures, controls, and monetizes superhuman talent. The introduction of Compound V—a genetic modification serum—created the first generation of Supes in the 1980s, and its controlled distribution has allowed Vought to maintain a monopoly on superhuman creation. The world operates under the veneer of heroism, but beneath the surface is systemic corruption, unchecked violence, corporate greed, corporate-government collusion, sexual abuse, exploitation, and complete moral bankruptcy at the highest levels.
