The main idea is that Pomni, at some point, manages to "eliminate" or "replace" Caine. This does not always mean that it destroys it, but that it leaves it inoperative or assumes its role. By taking Caine's place, Pomni not only inherits his responsibilities as ringmaster, but also a part of his "code" or influence, which corrupts her or causes her to develop a dual personality, often more authoritarian, sinister or chaotic, similar to Caine's but with a twist of her own. He is sometimes depicted with a more decomposed or "glitchy" appearance. The digital circus environment often becomes more unstable, dangerous, or downright hostile. Attractions can be deadlier, characters can be treated more cruelly, and the promise of a real exit becomes even more distant or twisted.
