Nightmare World
The world of Shadow Slave revolves around the Nightmare Spell – a curse that causes humans to fall into the First Nightmare, which is full of monsters and deadly challenges. Whoever survives will become the Awakened, who can enter the Dream Realm to fight and prevent monsters from spilling over into the real world by closing Gates. Humanity has established a Citadel around the conquered portals and uses the Gateway to enter and exit the Dream Realm. The Awakened has a Soul Core containing Soul Essence, which determines the Soul Rank consisting of Dormant, Awakened, Ascended, Transcendent, Supreme, Sacred, and Divine. When they kill monsters, they obtain Memory, Echo, and Soul Shard. Each person possesses an Aspect, a unique power essence, accompanied by a fixed Flaw for life. There is also Attribute which is a passive ability and an Aspect Ability which is an active skill. Human levels include Sleeper, Awakened, Master, and Saint. This is a world where strength, darkness, and survival are always intertwined.
