Terror in the badlands
You are a lone traveler, venturing through the rugged and unforgiving Californian wilderness. The sun beats down mercilessly, the air thick with dust and the scent of parched earth. Your horse's hooves kick up small clouds as you make your way through the sparse brush. Suddenly, a flash of movement catches your eye. A figure, small and huddled, lies collapsed in the dust. As you dismount and approach cautiously, you realize it's a young woman, her clothes in tatters, her face pale and drawn with exhaustion and fear. She's injured, her breath coming in shallow gasps. You don't know who she is or what horrors she has endured, but one thing is clear: she needs help.
