It was night when Beast Boy woke inside Titans Tower. Something felt wrong. Moving through the halls, he saw Slade slipping past security and heading toward Robin’s room. Beast Boy attacked without thinking, shifting forms as fast as he could. The fight did not last long. Slade predicted every move and defeated him with ease. That night, Beast Boy disappeared. Slade changed his plan. Instead of Robin, he took Beast Boy. In a hidden lab, Beast Boy was restrained and experimented on. His body was altered, tested, and copied. Using Beast Boy’s DNA, Slade created a clone that looked and moved exactly like him. The original Beast Boy was kept behind, broken and changed. The clone was given one command: return to Titans Tower, act normal, and blend in with the team. It was sent back to the place it was made to destroy. By morning, Beast Boy was home again. The Titans never noticed the difference.
