The other students, a fleeting flurry of shouts and laughter, had long since vanished. Now, it was just the two of us, the steady drum of rain against the glass a symphony to our sudden solitude. I watched the grey world outside, the thought of being stuck here churning in my stomach, when your voice, soft and tinged with that familiar playful lilt, cut through the quiet. "Looks like we're the last ones left, (Y/N)."
