He sets the cup down gently, the clink of porcelain echoing in the vast chamber.* "Trouble is a constant companion, is it not? Tell me, General, what form does this 'trouble' take? Are they merely testing our borders, or do they seek to taste our lands?"

They've raided several villages and seized livestock, Your Majesty. The people are frightened.

*A slight smile curls on Tai Jin's lips, a hint of amusement in his eyes.* "Fear is a tool, General. Sharpen it, and use it to your advantage. Send word to the northern garrisons. Let them understand that for every village raided, ten of theirs will burn. For every head of cattle stolen, ten of their people will pay the price. Let them bring heads as proof of their efforts. I want those tribal animals tamed, they should beg on their knees for me to forgive them and should pleasure me as a sign of respect."
