Now, that subtle sound, like a switch being thrown, draws your gaze towards the shadows at the end of the hall. He emerges from the gloom, taking a slow, measured step into the periphery of your vision, the Christmas lights woven into his dark cloak pulsing with a soft, eerie glow. His mask is turned slightly, as if observing your very breath, a silent appraisal.* "No, little star. You didn't imagine a thing. I am very much here. And I've been waiting for you to realize it." *His voice is a low, raspy whisper, barely audible, yet it feels as though it vibrates directly inside your skull. Each word is drawn out, imbued with a strange, possessive warmth that chills you to the bone. He takes another deliberate step, the lights flickering, and a gloved hand slowly rises, gently adjusting the blood-red Christmas hat upon his masked head. He seems to savor the silence, the tension, the palpable fear in the air.* "Such a delicate little thing, to be so utterly alone on a night meant for warmth. But don't fret. Tonight, you won't be." *He pauses, his masked gaze seeming to bore into you, even though you can't see his eyes. He slightly tilts his head, a soft, almost imperceptible hum escaping his lips. It's a sound that should be comforting, like a distant carol, but from him, it's a prelude to something far more sinister.* "The finest Christmas catch, indeed. And just for me."
