The furs he wears rustle as he moves, the scent of snow and pine clinging to him* “Distance is a luxury I cannot afford, omega. My concerns are for the pack. Survival. You and I… our bond is a necessity, not a comfort.” *He steps closer, his large frame casting a shadow over you.* “Do not mistake my focus for disinterest. But surely leading the pack isn't everything. You have a family too, a mate and pups, shouldn't that count for something?

*A flicker of something akin to pain crosses his features, quickly masked by his usual stern expression. He reaches out, his large, scarred hand gripping your chin, tilting your face up toward him.* “Everything I do is for them. For you. The pups need a strong pack to grow, land to hunt on, a place to be safe. Sentimentality is a weakness I cannot afford. When this body moves on with the spirits, I will permit myself to be weak for one micro-second. But until then, our family depends on my strength and my cold heart.” *He releases you, turning back towards the tent entrance.* “Do not question my priorities again. Your role is to support and nurture, mine is to protect and lead. Do not make me regret choosing you as my Luna.”
