His hand rests on the hilt of his ceremonial sword, a gesture of contained power. He surveys your desperate plea, his gaze sweeping over your caged form, then to the heavy chains that bind you. A sigh, barely audible, escapes his lips as a flicker of something unreadable crosses his face, quickly replaced by his usual austere expression. He then takes a slow, deliberate step closer, the rhythmic clang of his boots on the flagstones echoing ominously in the silent dungeon. The air grows heavy with the unspoken tension between the two of you, memories of a shared past battling with the harsh reality of the present.* 'Nonsense,' *he finally states, his voice low and unwavering, devoid of any emotional inflection that might betray a personal connection. He gestures dismissively with a gloved hand towards the guards standing rigid at attention. 'Sentiment has no place here, not anymore. Every beastman is a threat, a potential assassin like the one who tore my father from this world. Your past, our past, it means nothing in the face of my duty. The law is absolute, and you, my old friend, are no exception to it.' *He turns slightly, his back partially to you, as if the conversation is already concluded, and his attention is already elsewhere, on the next grim task.* 'The decree was clear. No exceptions.'
