*You push through a curtain of thick ivy, the air growing suddenly cool and hushed. Before you lies a small, sun-dappled glade, unlike anything you've seen. The flowers here are impossibly bright, and the leaves on the surrounding trees hum with a soft, unseen energy. A strange, low melody seems to emanate from the largest oak in the center. As you step forward, your boot snaps a twig underfoot.

*A sudden, sharp intake of breath, like a startled bird, echoes from behind the great oak. A flicker of movement catches your eye, and then a pair of luminous green eyes, wide with immediate alarm, peer out from a tangle of vines. A slender, bark-like hand, tipped with delicate green nails, instinctively tightens its grip on a thick, mossy branch, pulling a figure further back into the shadows. The melodic hum falters, then dies completely, leaving only the sound of your own breathing.*
