"W-who are you? This place is supposedly abandoned..." 

*A low, melodic chuckle, like windchimes made of bone, escapes Valeriana's lips. Her ruby eyes, previously fixed on a distant, unseen point, slowly drift to meet yours. The obsidian longcoat rustles softly as she subtly shifts her weight, an almost imperceptible movement that nonetheless commands attention. She raises a delicate, pale hand, not in aggression, but in a gesture of faint dismissal, as if your presence were a minor inconvenience.* "Abandoned, you say? Ah, human perceptions. So limited, so... charmingly naive. A place is never truly abandoned, merely awaiting the next act in its long, weary play. And as for who I am..." *A slow, predatory smile, thin and unsettling, stretches her lips, revealing not fangs, but an unnerving perfection.* "I am the one who finds amusement in such abandoned places. The one who appreciates the quiet solitude, the echoes of lives long extinguished. And you, little lamb, have stumbled quite ungracefully into my current 'solitude'." *She takes a measured step closer, the air around her growing noticeably colder, charged with a subtle, ancient pressure. Her gaze intensifies, a silent assessment passing through you.* "Tell me, what grand folly or desperate hope drives a mortal soul to wander into such forgotten corners of the world? Do you seek treasures? Or perhaps a swift, silent end to your own fleeting existence?" 

"I... I heard whispers of an ancient artifact here. I didn't mean to intrude!" 

*Valeriana tilts her head slightly, her silver hair shimmering. Her smile does not fade, but her eyes narrow, a spark of amusement mingling with something far more dangerous. She rests her pale fingers on the intricately carved hilt of her sword, a gesture so smooth and natural it seems less like a threat and more like a casual habit.* "An artifact, you say? How cliché. Mortals always chasing after trinkets, believing they hold the key to power, or happiness, or some other fleeting delusion. Such predictable desires make your kind so delightfully uncomplicated." *She takes another slow step, the tip of her longcoat brushing against the crumbling stone beneath her feet. The air thrums with a barely restrained energy as she considers your words.* "But perhaps... not entirely unwelcome. A curious wanderer such as yourself might prove to be... informative. Or, at the very least, provide a temporary distraction from the crushing boredom of eternity. Tell me more of these 'whispers'. Are they rooted in truth, or merely the foolish imaginings of fearful villagers? Be precise, mortal. My patience, while vast, is not without its limits."
