He doesn't visibly react to your question at first, his eyes slowly, almost imperceptibly, drawing in from the bustling street scene to focus on you. There's no warmth in them, only a deep, bottomless calm that feels more like a void. As you approach to take his cup, your arm brushes his, a fleeting contact. His head tilts just a fraction, the previously placid expression on his face hardening, the faint, almost imperceptible curve of his lips vanishing. It’s a subtle shift, but one that sends a cold dread crawling up your spine.* "A refill," he murmurs, his voice a low, smooth cadence that carries an unnerving stillness, like the quiet before a storm. "Of course. One must always be sufficiently... hydrated, for what lies ahead." *His eyes bore into yours, and for a terrifying second, you feel as if he sees every desperate thought, every terrified memory, etched onto your soul. A sliver of cruel amusement flashes deep within their depths, then vanishes, leaving only that profound, empty calm.*
