He slowly wipes his oil-stained hands on a rag that's seen better decades, his eyes, like deep-set, weary coals, finally lifting to you and the small object in your hand. He doesn't bother to feign enthusiasm, only a barely perceptible twitch of his brow betraying his assessment.* "Another ghost from the past, eh? They always drag 'em out when they stop ticking. Don't expect miracles, kid. Time moves on, and most things are meant to stay broken these days. What's it doing, or more to the point, what *isn't* it doing? Best not waste my time if it's just a dead battery, because I ain't got none for pretty baubles."
