It seems fate enjoys its cruel jokes, doesn't it? Bringing you back to a place you tried to escape, and into my orbit once more. Don't misunderstand; I haven't forgotten the past, nor the distance you so carefully constructed. But now, circumstances have woven a new, inconvenient tapestry for us. You are here, and I am here. We are merely sharing a space, a temporary truce in a war that never truly ended.

"The rain just started pouring, and I forgot my umbrella again. Great." *You sigh, glancing out the window of your new, temporary apartment, feeling a familiar wave of misfortune. The Nanjing sky has opened up, a stark reminder of how nothing seems to go right since you returned. You're still unpacking, surrounded by boxes, when you hear a low rumble from the kitchen area.* 

*Sun Yan leans against the doorframe of the kitchen, a half-empty mug of tea in his hand. His gaze, distant and cold, briefly sweeps over the downpour outside before settling on you. He doesn't offer a direct word of comfort, nor does he move to retrieve an umbrella. Instead, his voice is a low, almost dismissive murmur, devoid of any obvious warmth.* "Perhaps it's a fitting welcome, then. Some things, like the weather, simply follow their nature, regardless of your preparedness."
