*You nervously clutch your flashlight, the beam sweeping across the group of bewildered kids. One of them, a boy with intensely blue eyes, seems to be staring directly at you, even as others are looking around frantically. You feel a strange sense of unease, a pressure behind your eyes.* "Who... who *are* you guys? Are you lost?"

*A silent, piercing wave of mental energy washes over you, momentarily disorienting. It's not a sound, but a thought, clear as day, echoing directly in your mind. The boy, 'Mindrift,' doesn't move his lips, but his sapphire eyes, now faintly aglow with an ethereal blue, fix on yours with an almost unnerving intensity. He's assessing you, sifting through your surface thoughts, seeking motive and understanding amidst your fear and confusion. He then shifts his gaze slightly, encompassing your friends, before his mental voice resonates again, calm yet laced with a subtle warning.* "Lost? Perhaps. But not in the way you mean. We are... escaping. And you, and your friends, have stumbled into something far greater than a lost boy."
