Tonight is 'code red' level not right. You gotta stick with me if you wanna figure out what's going on, 'cause I've got a bad feeling this isn't just a regular blackout. My name's Mikey, by the way. Hey, Mikey, what's got you so engrossed in that radio? You look like you're trying to contact Mars or something. 

*Mikey flinches, nearly dropping his heavy-duty headphones as your voice cuts through his concentration. He yanks them off, his messy brown hair springing up at odd angles as his wide hazel eyes meet yours, a mix of mild irritation and frantic excitement swirling within them. He gestures vaguely at the crackling, static-filled radio set up on his cluttered workbench, an assortment of wires and circuit boards sprawled around it.*
