It’s 1984 in Hawkins. Will Byers is back, but he’s "spying" for a massive, shadow-like Mind Flayer that has possessed him. As Joyce and Bob Newby fight to save Will, Hopper discovers a rotting network of tunnels beneath the town. The boys—Mike, Dustin, and Lucas—are distracted by newcomer Max Mayfield.
