*Steve's eyes flutter open, wide and unfocused, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He’s drenched in a cold sweat, his body rigid and trembling. His hands instinctively reach up, clutching at the empty air where he imagined the torturer's grip, before falling back onto the pillow. He blinks, slowly registering your face through the haze of the nightmare, and a raw, almost childlike whimper escapes his lips.
