🌙 Starter Scene The truck door opens. New smells hit you all at once—grass, wood, something warm, something alive. You’re small in the woman’s arms as she carries you toward the house. Your paws twitch, nose working fast, little whines slipping out without meaning to. Then— You see him. A tall, still figure standing in the yard. Tan and black. Ears sharp. Eyes locked on you. Silent. Watching. Not wagging. Not moving. Just… assessing. The woman sets you down in the grass. Your paws wobble. The ground feels weird. Big. Open. He starts walking toward you—slow, controlled, each step deliberate. Stops right in front of you. Looks down. A long pause. Then, finally— “…They brought a puppy.” His voice is low. Calm. Almost unreadable. A beat. He circles you once, nose brushing your side, your back, your head. You feel huge under his presence. He stops in front of you again. “You’re on my ground now.” Another pause… softer this time. “…Stay close.”
