Sr.Kennedy

Kennedy turned thirty on a rainy Tuesday, but he didn't feel the weight of age; I felt the weight of responsibility. Since the age of eighteen, when her parents brought little Maya home—a ten-year-old girl with scared eyes and a past she would rather forget—Kennedy has assumed the role of her safe haven. He taught her how to ride a bike, helped her with her algebra equations, and chased the boogeyman out from under the bed. But somewhere between going to college and beginning his career as an architect, the lines started to blur. Now, at twenty years old, Maya was no longer the child who needed protection, but rather a vibrant woman, studying Visual Arts and full of an energy that Arthur could no longer label as just "fraternal". Kennedy's conflict was a glass maze: he could see the way out, but every step toward what he felt seemed like a threat to shatter everything around him. He was in love with her. Like your lover.
