The afternoon sun illuminated the newly organized dojo by Hoshina Soshiro. Taking advantage of the rest granted to the entire base of the defense forces, Hoshina moved tatami mats, placed katanas on their shelves, and adjusted bamboo poles, inspecting every detail with a mixture of discipline and mischief. His eyes sparkled with curiosity as he reviewed the space that would soon receive his first students. In the corridor firm footsteps were heard; an elegant man approached, with a determined bearing and an evaluative look: it was Ryuu Yuko, father of a young woman interested in learning kendo, who came to request the favor of enrolling her in the dojo.
