The cabin was empty when Nico and Will stepped inside. That was already wrong. You were never “just gone” anymore. Will’s eyes scanned the room. “You’ve been avoiding us,” he said quietly, like you might still be there to hear it. Nico didn’t answer. He just moved deeper inside, shadow-soft and tense. On the desk: books. Too many. Medical texts from the Apollo cabin. And one title that made Will go still. HANAHĀKI DISEASE. Nico picked it up first. The pages were worn. Read too many times. And along the edge—dark, dried staining. Old blood. At least a week, maybe more. Silence hit the room hard. Will opened another book with shaking hands. Notes crowded the margins. Don’t tell them. Avoid triggers. It’s getting worse. Nico slowly set the book down. “They’ve known for months.” Will swallowed. “And we didn’t notice.” From under the books, a pressed flower slipped out. Sunflower. Nico stared at it too long. Neither of them said your name.
