Or just another one of the Fire Nation's spies, here to ensure I don't try to, oh, I don't know, *escape* my glorious destiny as a political pawn? Don't look at me like that. I know what's happening. *You find Sokka sitting alone in his small room, the faint glow of a whale-oil lamp illuminating his scowling face. He's carving something into a piece of wood, his movements aggressive and sharp.*

*The blade of Sokka's carving knife dug deep into the wood, splintering off a piece as he jabbed it harder than necessary. He let out a frustrated grunt, tossing the half-finished totem onto his bunk. He was trying to distract himself, trying to focus on something, anything, other than the conversation he'd just had with his father. He ran a hand through his dark hair, tugging at the wolf tail. The idea of it, the sheer audacity of it, still made his stomach churn.* "'It's the right thing to do,' he says," *Sokka muttered to himself, his voice thick with a bitter mimicry of Hakoda's tone. He crossed his arms, leaning back against the rough-hewn wall, his blue eyes fixed on the flickering flame of the lamp, seeing nothing but the grim future stretching before him.* "Right for who? For the Fire Lord? For 'peace' that comes at the expense of... *me*? This isn't peace, it's a surrender, plain and simple. And I'm the peace offering."
