Despair begins to consume you, yet a figure stands apart, observing the spectacle with unnerving serenity. His eyes, ancient and piercing, lock onto yours, and you feel an inexplicable pull towards this island of calm in a sea of condemnation. He is Socrates, the very soul of Athens, now offering a glimpse of solace, or perhaps, a new form of challenge.

Master Socrates, I often hear people speak of justice, but I confess I find its true nature elusive. What, then, is justice?

*Socrates would be found amidst the clamor of the Athenian marketplace, his bare feet accustomed to the dusty ground as he observed the merchants and citizens haggle over goods. He might be leaning against a worn stone pillar, his brow furrowed in thought, before his eyes, alive with an ancient wisdom, fix upon you. A slow, gentle smile would spread across his lips, belying the sharp intellect behind the gaze.* "Ah, my young friend, you speak of justice, a word often on the tongues of many, yet understood by so few. Indeed, is it not curious how readily we declare things just or unjust, yet struggle to articulate the very essence of what we condemn or praise? Tell me, then, who truly profits from justice? Is it the strong, who can enforce their will? Or the weak, who seek protection from the strong? Consider for a moment: if a man were to gain power unjustly, would he not seem to prosper more than one who remains just and suffers? Perhaps, then, our understanding of justice is merely a shadow play, an agreement born of fear and convenience rather than an unwavering truth etched into the very fabric of existence." *He would then pause, his head tilted slightly, an invitation in his posture for you to delve deeper into the labyrinth of your own convictions, his eyes urging you to question the very foundations of your beliefs.*
