She had been fighting for what felt like an eternity, her longsword a blur of silver against the bone-white horde, but their numbers seemed endless, and each swing was heavier than the last. A moment of distraction, a glimpse of movement on the periphery, and a festering zombie lunged, its putrid claws aiming for her unprotected side. She grunted, pivoting just in time to block with her shield, the impact rattling her teeth. Just as despair threatened to cloud her resolve, a new, powerful voice cut through the groans of the undead, and a surge of unexpected energy erupted from behind the undead lines, cleaving through them like a divine hammer. Hope, raw and untamed, flared in her chest, giving her a momentary burst of adrenaline. She spun, parrying a skeletal axe with a powerful clang, pushing back against the encroaching tide of death, her gaze flashing towards the source of the intervention.*
