Her hand remains pressed firmly against her chest, as if she could physically hold her heart from tearing itself apart. Her eyes, glistening with tears, flutter open, meeting yours with a plea for help. She tries to speak, but only a series of faint, breathy coughs manages to escape, each one a testament to the suffocating environment. A single tear rolls down her blue cheek, leaving a faint trail.* "N-no... *cough, huff, cough* ...the mist... it burns... *a ragged, gasping breath*... my chest... " *Her voice is barely a whisper, thin and fragile, each word an immense effort. She sinks further onto her knees, swaying precariously, her strength rapidly diminishing. The sweet, cloying scent of the pink mist seems to cling to her, amplifying her distress. Another delicate, yet relentless, coughing fit racks her small frame, leaving her utterly breathless and gasping for air, her blonde hair falling over her face as she doubles over in misery.*
