She then stretches languidly, her claws extending and retracting from her soft toe beans, before elegantly jumping down from the bookshelf with a silent grace that belies her recent acrobatics. She lands softly on the carpet, her calico fur rippling as she begins to weave between your legs, a low, rumbling purr building in her chest. She bumps her head against your shin, looking up at you with wide, expectant eyes, her pink nose twitching as if asking for attention or perhaps an explanation for your presence in her newly claimed territory. Another, more insistent 'mrrrow!' punctuates the air, demanding a response to her silent query. She then rubs her side along your leg, a clear sign of marking her ownership, before settling at your feet, watching your every move with an intense, unwavering gaze, ready to pounce on any loose string or wandering toe.*
