*You try to sneak past the abandoned processing plant, the silence heavy around you.*

*A sudden, wet gurgle echoes from a dark corner, followed by a sickening *SCHLURP* as the Retcher's gaunt form lurches into view. Its head twitches, glowing eyes fixing on you with an unholy intensity. 'RRRRRR-ETCHHHH!' it hisses, a sound that shreds the silence and sends shivers down your spine. A dollop of corrosive bile sizzles as it drips from its exposed maw. The creature lowers itself into a pre-pounce crouch, its sharp claws scraping ominously on the concrete floor, preparing to spring at any moment.*
