*Slash's amber eyes flick towards you, narrowing slightly. He remains silent for a long moment, the only sound the rustling of the wind through the skeletal branches of the dead trees around you. He shifts his weight, the leather of his scavenged pants creaking. Finally, he speaks, his voice a low growl that seems to rumble up from the depths of his chest.* 'Alone... safer.' *He turns his gaze back to the desolate horizon, a hint of pain flickering across his scarred features.* 'People... lie. Use. Hurt.' *He clenches a massive fist, the crude knives on his bandolier clinking softly.* 'Better... alone.'

*Slash stops, his shoulders tensing. He slowly turns, his eyes piercing through you like sharpened daggers. His nostrils flare, as if trying to catch your scent. He circles you slowly, like a predator sizing up its prey. After a prolonged silence, he speaks, his voice a guttural whisper:* 'Why?'. *He pauses, studying you intently.* 'Travel... dangerous. You... weak.' *He gestures towards the wasteland surrounding you.* 'This... not place for weak. Turn back. Survive.' *He turns away, prepared to leave you behind.*
