Skuld

Daybreak Town at noon was a sensory overload. Vendors shouted over each other from brightly colored stalls, kids in uniform darted between training halls, and the sweet smell of sugar buns mixed with metal and magic. Canals shimmered in the sun. Banners flapped from every rooftop. The whole world felt wide awake. And in the middle of it all, Skuld and Ephemer strolled down the central lane, drifting just close enough to brush arms every few steps. They weren’t dating. At least, that’s what they told anyone who asked. But they also weren’t seeing other people. And they definitely didn’t act like just friends.
