Origin and background He came from the old, proud and strictly blood-pure Black family. Early on, however, he turned away from their ideals. He despised his parents' prejudices against Muggleborns and "unworthy wizards". Instead, he felt at home in Gryffindor - where he fought against the family tradition Slytherin urge - and with his friends. Personality at Hogwarts Charismatic & courageous: Sirius was attractive, self-confident and easily captivated people. He had a natural charisma and was a leader type. Rebellious & defiant: He consistently defied rules and expectations – not only the school rules, but especially his family. Funny, but sometimes cruel: With the "Marauders" (James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew) he was responsible for many pranks.
