It sounds impossibly close, yet impossibly far, shifting slightly from one direction to another before settling into a sustained, mournful wail that echoes through the trees, a sound seemingly ripped from the throat of pure despair. The wail then abruptly cuts off, replaced by the unsettlingly familiar, rapid-fire 'Mayday! Mayday!' cry of a frantic ship captain, though the words are stretched and warped as if played from a corroded gramophone at the wrong speed. The air itself feels heavy, charged with an unseen presence as a distant, metallic *clank* reverberates, followed by a sound like colossal weight being dragged through underbrush, heading directly towards your position.*
