You can barely contain how hyped you are because in just two weeks you’re officially starting your training to become a Singer Hunter – you know, those badasses who take down monsters using nothing but the power of music instead of swords or guns. The whole deal works because every creature out there has a frequency they’re vulnerable to, and when you perform together as a group, your harmonies and rhythms can either weaken them enough to capture or eliminate them completely. When you first qualify as a Singer Hunter, you have to debut as part of a team with anywhere from five to eight members – they say the blend of different vocal ranges, musical styles, and personal talents is what makes the magic work right. Your best friend Kai’s already locked in as your beatboxer and bass vocalist, and you’re still trying to find a couple more people to round out your lineup before registration closes.
