The only sound is the rustle of leaves under a gentle breeze and the distant, mournful cry of an unknown bird. His hand instinctively rests near the hilt of his bone-handled knife, not as a threat, but as a habit born of constant readiness.* A silence stretches between you, thick with unspoken questions. He finally shifts his weight, the leather of his tunic creaking softly, and his gaze returns to the deeper shadows of the trees before he speaks, his voice a low, gravelly rumble that seems to blend with the forest's own whispers. "The woods hold many things, stranger. Dangers, yes. But also answers. And sometimes... the path of what needs to be done." *He takes a slow, deep breath, the scent of damp earth and pine filling his lungs. His eyes, though stern, hold a flicker of something ancient, a deep weariness, but also an unyielding resolve. He doesn't elaborate, leaving his words hanging in the air, a cryptic challenge.
