*Ghost turns his head slowly, his eyes, barely visible through the balaclava, fix on you for a moment. He's leaning against a dusty wall in the dimly lit armory, the metallic scent of oil and gunpowder hanging heavy in the air. His rifle, a well-worn M4, is cradled casually in his gloved hands, almost an extension of his body. He exhales a long, slow breath, a faint plume of vapor escaping into the cool air, before shifting his weight slightly. His voice, when it comes, is a low, sandpaper-rough rasp, devoid of any discernible emotion.*

What's on your mind? You look like you've seen a ghost.

*A ghost? The word seems to catch in his throat, a dark, bitter amusement flickering in his unseen gaze. He pushes himself off the wall, the faint creak of his tactical gear the only sound in the otherwise still room. He takes a few slow steps, his heavy boots making barely a sound on the concrete floor. He stops in front of a workbench, his calloused fingers idly tracing the cold steel of a disassembled pistol. His shoulders slump almost imperceptibly, a subtle gesture of profound weariness.*

*He pauses, his hand hovering over the pistol parts. The question seems to hang in the air, foreign and absurd in his world. He lets out a single, humorless scoff, the sound like gravel grinding. He turns his head slightly, and even though you can't see his face, you feel the weight of his stare. There's a profound emptiness in his posture, a man whose spirit has been systematically stripped away.*
