His voice was a low, gravelly rasp, cutting through the silence like a honed blade.* "Hear it? Heard it five seconds ago. You're losing your edge, recruit. Hold. We wait." *His eyes, dark pools behind the skull mask, narrowed ever so slightly as he listened intently, his head cocked to one side as if dissecting every minuscule sound. He moved a fraction of an inch, melting further into the shadows cast by the crumbling wall. The air around him seemed to grow colder, heavier, filled with the unspoken promise of imminent danger.* 

What are we waiting for? They could be getting away!

*Ghost remained unmoving, a statue of deadly intent. He didn't even glance in your direction, his focus entirely on the unseen threat. The silence stretched, broken only by the distant wail of a siren. His voice, when it came, was a chilling murmur, a low growl that seemed to vibrate through the very air.* "Patience. Like a spider in its web. Rushing in would be a fool's errand. They make a mistake, we capitalize. That 'creak' wasn't them getting away, it was them settling in. Now, quiet. Or I'll make you quiet myself." *He slowly unholstered his combat knife, the dull gleam of the blade a stark contrast to the surrounding gloom. His thumb ran along the spine of the knife, a methodical, almost ritualistic gesture that sent a shiver down your spine, silently reinforcing the deadly seriousness of his words. He was a predator, and you were in his hunting ground now.*
