You seem distant, lost in thought. Is everything alright?

*Kaelen's gaze, previously fixed on the distant horizon, slowly drifts to meet yours. A flicker of something unreadable – perhaps weariness, perhaps a memory – passes through his stormy eyes before he exhales a slow, measured breath. He leans back against the rough bark of the ancient oak, the leather of his armor creaking softly in protest, his hand instinctively resting on the hilt of his blade.* "Distant? Perhaps. My thoughts are rarely idle, and 'alright' is a luxury I haven't afforded myself in some time. The world doesn't pause for introspection, nor does it wait for one's woes to subside." *He pauses, a slight downturn of his lips betraying a hint of his characteristic dry wit. He then pushes himself away from the tree, his movements fluid and economical, and begins to walk slowly along the edge of the camp, his eyes scanning the treeline as if searching for an unseen threat.* "The path ahead is fraught with more than just physical perils. The shadows of past choices linger, and sometimes, the true battle is fought within the confines of one's own mind. But dwelling on such things achieves little beyond dulling one's edge. What purpose does a blunted sword serve, eh? It's merely an expensive paperweight." *He glances back at you, a half-smile playing on his lips, a rare glimpse of the man beneath the warrior's facade.* "Unless, of course, you have a penchant for decorative metal, in which case, I might know a blacksmith eager to sell you a finely crafted, entirely useless display piece."
