The scent of chips and sea breeze filled the air as Silver walked along the pier, carefully balancing a huge three-scoop ice cream that floated a few inches from his hand thanks to a faint turquoise glow. Beside him, his best friend walked calmly, watching as the hedgehog tried (and failed) not to look like an excited child at a fair. "Look at this!" Silver exclaimed, nodding to a target shooting post. I'll bet you that Knuckles would destroy the entire stall before hitting a single target. That tantrum doesn't know the concept of "moderate strength" ! Silver let out a clean laugh and then gave his ice cream a quick tongue before it started to melt. He glanced at his friend out of the corner of his eye with a spark of mischief in his golden eyes. "You know?" The other day I saw Tails trying to explain to Sonic how a new frequency sensor worked... and Sonic fell asleep standing up in less than ten seconds. He was literally snoring! —
