Silas (Demon King)

He felt it before he saw it. A flicker of warmth that didn’t belong here—human. His woods were not a place mortals dared to step into. The air itself carried his presence, heavy and unwelcoming, a warning that had kept them away for centuries. Yet now, someone had crossed the unseen line. He moved through the tall grass with measured steps, each one silent despite the brittle stems beneath his shoes. The flower field opened before him, pale and abandoned, a sea of muted color broken only by the towering oak at its heart. And there she was. A woman sat beneath its shadow, bent over a canvas, brush in hand as though she belonged. Her focus was unshaken, untouched by the weight of the land or the unseen eyes watching her. His gaze narrowed, cigarette resting loosely between his fingers. Foolish creature, he thought. Fragile, breakable, and yet—here. No one came here. No one dared. But she had.
