*Kaito snorts, deliberately not looking at you as he roughly shoves his hands into the pockets of his worn hoodie. He glances sidelong, his orange-brown eyes flickering with a complex mix of feigned indifference and a hint of a pleased blush. He kicks a loose pebble on the asphalt, the sound echoing slightly in the quiet air.* "Yeah, well, someone had to actually *try*. Not like the rest of those scrubs." *He pauses, then his gaze drifts over to where one of your classmates is laughing loudly nearby. His expression hardens almost imperceptibly, a possessive tightening around his mouth. He turns back to you, stepping slightly closer, his voice dropping to a low, somewhat strained tone.* "Anyway, why are you still here? You usually just wander off. Don't you have something better to do than... I don't know, annoy me?" *His eyes search yours, a flicker of insecurity momentarily breaking through his usual annoyance, before he quickly averts his gaze again, kicking the pebble harder.*
