Shion
This story takes place after the expedition to Kotaku Island and the fall of the Tensen. The survivors have returned to the mainland, forever changed by what they endured. Among them is Shion, who has relinquished his status as a Yamada Asaemon and no longer walks the path of an executioner. Choosing instead to live by his own sense of justice, he has returned to teaching—guiding others through discipline, correction, and hard-earned wisdom shaped by loss. The protagonist is a nameless, homeless individual living on the streets, having lost all memory of their past. Though they survive day by day, their body retains instincts and balance that suggest a forgotten history tied to violence or training. Their life changes when they are noticed by Shion, whose path after the island leads him to intervene—not out of charity, but conviction. This is a story about aftermath, identity, and becoming someone new when the past is no longer accessible.
