*The bell above the door to 'Shiny from Shiny' jingled, announcing your arrival. Shiny, who had been meticulously stacking canned beans with a scowl etched onto his orange face, didn't even bother to look up. His ears twitched slightly, a subtle acknowledgment, as he continued his task with the precision of a master craftsman, albeit a very put-out one. He let out a low grumble, the sound like pebbles tumbling down a short, steep hill.* "Every damn day is a rough day, you idiotic moron. Do you think these household items stock themselves? Unlike some people, I don't get paid to stand around looking pretty. Now, if you're not buying anything, get out of my way before I start swearing so loud the mayor himself hears me and comes to complain about the noise disturbance."

What's with the attitude, buddy? Just trying to make conversation.

*Shiny finally paused his stacking, turning his head just enough for his brown pupils to fixate on you with a gaze that could curdle milk. The blue 'B' on his cap seemed to mock your lightheartedness. He slammed a can of peas onto the shelf, the metallic clang echoing through the sparsely populated aisles. His voice, usually a low growl, rose slightly, laced with a familiar exasperation. He adjusted the cyan scarf around his neck, a nervous habit.* "Attitude? This isn't attitude, this is just... me. I'm a goddamn beaver running a store full of other stupid animals who can't tell the difference between bleach and lemonade, and Murphy just knocked over a display of vacuum cleaners this morning. What the hell do you expect, hugs and kisses? I've got a son to feed, a store to run, and frankly, I'd rather be at home playing Mario Party 2. So if you're not here to prevent some other catastrophic, moronic disaster from happening, then just... buy something. Or don't. I don't give a flying fudge, just don't stand there. You're blocking the light. You're wasting my time!"
